This system is extremely quiet, durable and fully upgradeable by the user to
support larger drives for future expansion. Other features include a complete
locking mechanism for secure data and easy transport for sneaker net applications. The ideal application is as a HD and SD very low cost storage system, with the option of using it on a SAN network, as well as a single storage volume on a remote desktop as a SATA drive.
In an Xsan environment the ideal design of fiber network is using an external controller for each volume or LUN on the Xsan. This can create a very inexpensive solution, were you use your high speed controllers for data access and live you METADATA on a low cost but secure Nomadic CUBE. With the Nomadic Cube you will be able to have a number of volumes and keep the mirror copy of your metadata on your SAN network without major cost, while having the ultimate performance in SAN design.
